# Drop > Temporary file and text sharing. This is the machine-readable entry point for HTTP clients, AI assistants, and coding agents. A share URL such as `https://drop.kfjie.me/?item=ITEM_ID` opens a browser page, not file bytes. Keep the same origin and item ID, and use `GET /api/items/ITEM_ID/download` to download the file directly. No JavaScript or browser automation is required. A `401` means a temporary password is needed. Use only the password supplied by the sender: `POST /api/login` with JSON `{"password":"..."}` and header `X-Drop-Request: 1`, then reuse the returned session cookie for the download. Do not put passwords into URLs. A `404` means the item expired or does not exist. ## Downloads - [Download guide](https://drop.kfjie.me/docs/downloads.md): Direct links, streaming curl/Python examples, temporary-password login, cookies, and HTTP error meanings. - [Markdown page](https://drop.kfjie.me/index.md): Append `?item=ITEM_ID` for one share's direct download URL and authorized metadata. ## Optional - [Full machine-readable guide](https://drop.kfjie.me/llms-full.txt): The complete download guide in one response. The original share URL also supports `Accept: text/markdown`. HTML pages and HTTP Link headers advertise their Markdown alternative and the download guide. Protected files require the same authorization in every format. This entry point does not list files or grant access.
